Wait, there’s more. . .

Ok, I’ve got a few things for you.

1) I heard the funniest thing today: So there was this guy (it’s good already, isn’t it) sitting on a bench (see previous post). And this guy was not moving. He was just sitting there, doing nothing, just sitting. Not even moving. So some people were on vacation and walked by the guy on their way to the beach in the morning and then walked back past the guy on their way back to the condo and then walked past the guy again on their way to dinner. Finally on the way back from dinner the woman couldn’t stand it anymore and stopped to ask the guy what was up; are you ok?

So she says:” Sir, you’ve been sitting here all day. We’ve walked past you several times today and you haven’t moved. Are you ok? Can we do anything for you?”

And the guy says:”Ma’am, I am a firm beliver in reincarnation and I have lived many lives before this one. As well, I have worked very hard in my lives.”

So the woman says:”And so you are meditating or breathing in the karma/dogma/qui of the world?”

The man:”No. It’s just come to this. . .I have decided to sit this one out.”

Ok, maybe you had to be there but, I found it very amusing!

One more thing. . .

I keep an intermittent journal (paper, a gift from Grace and Jaden, too, I guess) and I pulled it out today to write some thoughts about “writing” after bloghopping today.

1st thing: There was a baby booger on the binding of my journal. Why?

2nd thing: In the back of my journal there was a program thing from church that had all these verses on my position in Christs’ eyes and mind. And for some reason, today, I bought it.

I don’t know why, what was different today but today I half believe that He really does love me with an unending love and that He really is on my side. An acceptance that can never be questioned. It is not in spite of all the myriad ailments (emotional, spiritual or otherwise) that plauge me, it just is. I don’t get it. But it’s good.

  1. I’m so glad that you were able to take the essence of the story I was trying (and failing miserably) to tell and make it funny again. Only you, Chey.

I think you need to have a talk with Eva about snooping through Mommy’s journal.

I think we all have a myriad of ailments. In fact, I’d say every one of us is pretty f@*#ed up sometimes (maybe always) but good ol’ Jesus loves us anyway. Have you read the “Ragamuffin Gospel” lately?

  2. One more thing:
That story is further proof of how sitting on benches allow for the detachment from reality…
